Eaton Named a 2013 Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles

Cleveland – The National Business Group on Health today recognized Eaton as one of the “2013 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles®” and presented Eaton with its Global Distinction Award for the company’s efforts to enhance the physical, psychological and emotional health, well-being and productivity of employees and their dependents.

Eaton was one of only two companies to receive the Global Distinction award this year and among 65 U.S. employers that received the 2013 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® Award. Eaton received a gold award for its Powering You to Live Well program, a global wellness initiative aimed at removing traditional barriers to wellness and providing employees and their families with the resources they need for good health.

“Wellness at Eaton is more than a program, it’s about changing the environment by offering the right tools to help empower employees to make that happen,” said Cindy Brabander, Eaton’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “We’re thrilled to be recognized by the National Business Group on Health as we continue on this path for our employees in the U.S. and around the world.”

The National Business Group on Health is the nation’s only non-profit association of large U.S. employers. This is the first year Eaton has received the award.

“We are proud to honor Eaton for its ongoing commitment to providing lifestyle improvement programs that encourage healthy lifestyles for their employees,” said Helen Darling, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health. “Eaton is among an elite group of organizations that are leading the way to promoting healthy workplaces and lifestyles. Eaton and its management team should be proud of their commitment to their program and we congratulate them on receiving this award.”
