As a part of a corporate sponsorship, all three of Service Wire locations worked with Operation Gratitude to prepare 500 care kits. On June 13, employees took time from their workday to help separate the items and assemble the kits. They also wrote letters to the soldiers and brought coloring sheets prepared by their children to be included in the packages.

Historically, Service Wire has had a commitment of honoring employees and retirees who have served our country. This dedication lead to the partnership with Operation Gratitude.

“As part of celebrating our 50th anniversary year, we wanted to do something above and beyond previous years. We wanted our employees to be involved and feel a personal sense of pride,” said Jessi West, PHR in Service Wire’s Human Resources.

Mirna Garza and Rob Wilson were two of the Houston employees who worked to package 100 kits.

“We made it fun by decorating with patriotic colors and the Operation Gratitude logo was displayed. Employees who helped with the kits were treated to red, white and blue popsicles,” West added.

“We are thankful for the passion and dedication of the tens of thousands of Operation Gratitude volunteers around the country, including the employees of Service Wire, who contribute to our mission to serve those who serve,” said Kevin Schmiegel, CEO of Operation Gratitude. “Their commitment to giving back and to ensuring our Military, Veteran, and First Responder communities understand the depth of appreciation we have for their service and sacrifice is the heart and soul of Operation Gratitude.”
