A letter from the Leviton offices:
It is with deep sorrow that the Leviton family announces the passing of Shirley Leviton, beloved wife of Harold Leviton, our late CEO, President and Chairman of the Board of Leviton Manufacturing. Mrs. Leviton served as a member of the Board of Directors.
The many employees and people in the industry who came in contact with her sensed her compassion, elegance, and intellect. An accomplished woman, she served numerous local and national organizations. She was President of the National Council of Jewish Women, recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from Acadia University, and was also a Board Member of North Shore University Hospital.
Her greatest loves were her family; daughter’s Patricia, Adrienne and Elizabeth, her sons-in-law, Stephen Sokolow, Donald Hendler, and Andrew Kriegman, her 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She also showed great love and devotion to the Leviton Company and all of its employees. The family greatly appreciates the sympathies and condolences of the entire organization for their loss. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Shirley’s memory be made to a charity of the giver’s choosing.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Levitonunchron passing. I remember her well from my true at Little Neck. She is in my prayers.
