Frederick A. Roessle died peacefully on January 23, 2023 at Winchester Gardens in Maplewood at the age of 96.
Fred served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was active both in his community and in business, serving as President and CEO of A-B Electrical Supply Co of Whippany, and on the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) Board.

Here are a few of Fred’s industry highlights:
- Fred acquired A-B Electrical Supply Co., Morristown, NJ in 1963 after ending a NYC-based Global Corporate Executive career.
- He secured an Allen-Bradley authorization, joined NAED, and moved the business to Whippany, N.J. in 1970.
- He was an NAED Board Member in the late 1970’s and early to mid 1980’s.
- Fred was an early (not charter) member of Affiliated Distributors, which was then called Affiliated Independent Distributors.
- He retired from the business in the early 1990s, and his son, Randy Roessle, stepped in as President.
- The business was sold to Turtle & Hughes in 1998, where Randy is still active as Executive Vice President.
Fred is survived by his loving and beloved wife Ruth of 58 years, his six children, and their partners.
