With the massive, potentially multi-billion dollar opportunity related to the electric vehicle market just getting started, the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) are working together to host a first-ever Electric Vehicle Symposium.
The symposium is scheduled for Thursday, September 28 from 9:30am-5pm at the Philadelphia Convention Center as part of the NECA Convention and Trade Show. The symposium will teach you about the potential electric vehicle market growth over the next 5 to 10 years, expectations from your EV customers, and how you can expand your presence in the EV market.
“NAED and NECA have made working more closely together a priority,” Ed Orlet, NAED’s Interim President said. “We’ve made great strides in our Electrical Industry Supply Chain Initiative including our partners at NEMA and NEMRA. Now we’re happy to grow our partnership with NECA on this event designed to help our members evaluate opportunities in the electric vehicle supply infrastructure market. It’s important to note that the event will focus on ways distributors and contractors can partner to maximize their impact on this emerging market segment.”
Sessions include a look at the scope of the EV market, products and opportunities that will be needed to support a dramatic increase in electric vehicle charging stations, customer expectations for charging systems, and how you can expand your presence in the EV market.
The symposium is targeted for a variety of roles, including Sales and Marketing, Branch Manager, Chief Strategy Officers, and Renewable Energy Teams.
“Most distributors have a team – in some cases a team of one – whose job it is to evaluate new market opportunities,” Orlet added. “This workshop will help those people conduct that evaluation. The good news is you don’t have to evaluate it alone. Putting distributors and contractors in the room together allows us to maximize the resources we can bring to bear on the EVSI end user.
“NAED and NECA have never been closer, and the results are showing that. Our industry is at the center of an unprecedented growth opportunity thanks to the investments being made in electrification. Our event at the NECA show is only the beginning but it’s a great beginning.”
You need to register to attend the event, which occurs on the first day of education sessions at the NECA Convention. It does include a networking lunch and happy hour from 3:30pm-5pm.
