Portsmouth, NH—Standard Electric Supply Co., the seventeen-location leading independent distributor headquartered in Milwaukee, WI and a leading AD member, has joined 42 manufacturers/brands, including national chains and other leading independent distributors in endorsing NEMRA’s POS Minimum Reporting Standards.
While Standard has provided its key partners with POS information, it recognizes that sharing POS information with its manufacturers and their sales organizations is imperative to gaining local sales support.
According to Larry Stern, President of Standard Electric and a past Chairman of NAED, “We’ve always believed that our local reps are critical to our success and we partner with them. Ensuring they get compensated correctly is important and a standardized POS reporting process to ensure manufacturers get the information necessary to support our reps is important. To me, the NEMRA POS initiative and template makes sense. We’ll be moving towards using this format with as many of the 42 suppliers as we can.”
Ken Hooper, President of NEMRA, commented “We appreciate Standard’s, and Larry’s, commitment to the rep community and endorsement of the NEMRA POS reporting standards. Our goal is to help streamline and improve the data collection process between distributors and manufacturers so that manufacturer reps are more appropriately compensated for the efforts that they do on behalf of distributors. Standard understands the value that reps can bring to a distributor and we appreciate his support on this important issue.
