Blazer Electric Supply Hosts 12th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament

Blazer Electric Supply hosted its 12th Annual Blazer Benefit Golf Tournament, which took place on August 1, 2024, at Bear Dance Golf Club in Larkspur, Colorado. This year’s event saw an unprecedented level of support from individuals and corporations, raising a total of $40,000 to enhance the local training initiatives of the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) and the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC).

The unwavering dedication and generosity of participants and sponsors have now resulted in a cumulative sum of $330,250 being raised. These funds provide vital support for scholarships, tools, training materials, and equipment in both apprenticeship programs.

The IEC and JATC apprenticeship programs continue to play a crucial role in fostering the skills and knowledge required for a prosperous career in the electrical construction trade. By focusing on recruiting and preparing a skilled labor force to meet Colorado’s evolving electrical contractor needs, the local IEC and JATC programs provide training and certification opportunities to candidates from a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds. These initiatives enable aspiring individuals to become proficient electricians, contributing valuable professional services to the region’s electrical industry.

In 2024, the funds and contributions from the Blazer Benefit Golf Tournament enabled scholarships for an even greater number of Southern Colorado students, assisting them in successfully completing the 2023/2024 academic year.

Trevor Blazer, President of Blazer Electric Supply, reiterated his commitment to the community, stating, “As a cornerstone of Southern Colorado’s electrical supply industry, we believe in the power of community. The Blazer Benefit Golf Tournament is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a catalyst for ambition and a launchpad for careers in the electrical field. We’re grateful for the continued support from our sponsors and participants. Together, we’re lighting the path to a brighter future.”

Manufacturers and representative agencies had the opportunity to sponsor holes, while players generously donated funds for advantages on the course, such as purchasing mulligans or chipping for points in a 12ft bear claw board. The funds raised through these endeavors significantly contribute to the tuition funds, assisting students in their pursuit of a fulfilling career in electrical work.
