Tyler Cluck, 32
Account Manager
Capital Electric Supply
Tyler has been in the industry for nine years—all of them at Capital Electric Supply. ” I arrived just after graduating from Purdue University and, as a new hire, saw and continue to see the opportunity to build a career,” he recalled, noting that he started as a sales trainee and has been an account manager for the past eight years.
Asked about a challenge the industry is currently facing, Tyler pointed to knowledge loss. “I think the largest problem our industry is facing is the talent retiring from our workforce and the lack of young people coming in,” he said. “In my position I enjoy mentoring new salespeople to ensure positive outcomes.”
Looking ahead, Tyler’s “next goal is to double my annual sales in the next three years,” he said. “I’m preparing for this by focusing on key relationships and delivering for our customers.”
What would Tyler tell someone new to the industry? “I would tell anyone entering our business that we sell and provide services that customers need,” he said. “This business is a wonderful opportunity to create a long-term career.”
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time with family, wake surfing, and smoking meat.
