Mike Romme of Stanion Wholesale Electric Company Dies

Stanion Wholesale Electric provided tED magazine with the following statement:

It is with heavy hearts we share with you that Mike Romme passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Mike had finished his workday and was at home at the time of his death.

Mike had worked for Stanion Wholesale Electric since 1991, and his career path with us was very typical of many of our long-term employees. After graduating from Kansas State University with an engineering degree, Mike started his career at Stanion in our McPherson (Mike’s hometown) branch in 1991. He started as an entry-level employee, working as a driver and warehouseman.

In 1992, Mike transferred to our Wichita branch where he worked for a short time as a driver and warehouseman before moving into counter sales. Mike then progressed through positions of automation specialist, outside sales, and branch manager, all in Wichita.

Mike became our VP of Vendor Relations in our corporate office in 2011 and worked in that position until the time of his death. Mike had many management responsibilities and was very active in our industry, including representing our company with the National Association of Electrical Distributors and Affiliated Distributors.

One of his favorite duties was his work through our company with Special Olympics Kansas. He loved traveling to our branches and interacting with all of those who worked for us throughout our company.

The loss of Mike leaves a large hole in the Stanion family, and he will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Danielle, and their two children, Nicole and Donald.
