Electric Supply Center sponsors event to fight muscular dystrophy

Bard, Rao + Athanas Consulting Engineers raised more than $50,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) during its 13th annual charity golf outing raising. The sold out golf tournament took place at two courses at The International in Bolton, Mass. and included 57 foursomes. The event, in total, has raised more than $300,000 for MDA.

The golf tournament was formed 13 years ago to show support for BR +A employee Nick Johnson, who had been diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia, a neuromuscular disease covered by MDA. Nick is a member of the MDA’s national taskforce on public awareness. The fundraiser is a “tribute to his strong will and dedication to the fight against MD,” said Allan Ames, BR+A president.

The event is sponsored by many local companies, including Electric Supply Center [ESC] of Burlington and Wakefield, Mass. “Electric Supply Center is thrilled to sponsor BR+A’s Charity Golf Outing,” said ESC President and CEO, Larry LaFreniere. “Raising funds and awareness to help patients and their families who are struggling with Muscular Dystrophy is an honor and a relationship we look forward to keeping.”
