ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Summit Electric Supply held a groundbreaking event on August 12 to celebrate the company’s future Gonzales, Louisiana location. The planned state-of-the-art facility at 3348 S. Burnside will include 50,000 square feet of warehouse space—nearly twice the capacity of Summit’s current Gonzales location on West Orice Roth Road.

To meet the electrical needs of Gonzales’ burgeoning infrastructure, the future facility will also provide increased space for vital sales functions. The move allows Summit to expand its counter sales area, offer additional customer service support, and broaden its scope of work, all of which will contribute to quality employment opportunities for the community.

“We are committed to the growth of the city of Gonzales and that of Ascension Parish,” said Gonzales Service Center Leader Chip Shows at the event. “As we celebrate the ground breaking of this new state-of-the-art facility, we are excited about our future together. Our associates and their families are extremely proud to be a part of this project and to help contribute to the growth of our community.”

Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux also spoke at the groundbreaking event along with Ascension Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Matthew Pryor.

Attendees included Summit’s CEO Victor Jury Jr. and many of Summit’s suppliers and customers. The head of Ascension Economic Development Corp. Mike Eades also joined the celebration as well as a number of city, state, and parish officials, including Louisiana State Senator Troy Brown; State Representatives Clay Schexnayder and Ed Price; Ascension Parish President Tommy Martinez; Ascension Parish Assessor Mert Smiley; and Gonzales Councilmen Gary Lacombe, Timothy Vessel, and Terance Irvin.

Summit has serviced residential, commercial, and industrial contractors in the Gonzales area since January 2003, and has actively supported local non-profit organizations, schools and youth activities, and other community projects.
