PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Wesco International, Inc. has received the prestigious Supplier Gold designation from United Technologies Corporation (UTC). UTC is a leading provider of high-technology systems and services to the global aerospace and building systems industries.
Wesco achieved UTC Supplier Gold status by demonstrating, during the preceding 12 months, “best in class” quality and delivery performance, implementation of a lean culture, and overall strong customer satisfaction. The UTC Supplier Gold Program facilitates and accelerates supplier performance improvements and recognizes suppliers who have achieved exceptional performance. The UTC Supplier Gold Program works within UTC’s operating system for quality and continuous improvement, known as Achieving Competitive Excellence.
“This recognition demonstrates the teamwork between UTC and Wesco in providing outstanding supply chain performance,” said Scott Leichtling, Group Vice President and General Manager, Wesco Integrated Supply. Last year, Wesco renewed its integrated supply agreement for five years with UTC to provide industrial MRO products, distribution logistics, inventory management, and other value-added services. Under the agreement, UTC has access to Wesco’s e-Crib MRO software programs, which include a wide range of procurement and inventory management functions.
