HARVEY, Ill. — Atkore International Group Inc. (“Atkore”) has announced the election of A. Mark Zeffiro, group president of Cequent at TriMas Corporation, as an independent member of Atkore’s board of directors, effective immediately. Additionally, Mr. Zeffiro assumes responsibilities as the Audit Committee chairperson.
“Mark’s breadth of financial, operational and business leadership experience adds relevant expertise and insight to our board,” noted Phillip Knisely, chairman of Atkore. “I look forward to his contributions as we continue to strengthen Atkore’s leadership presence in the industry.”

For the past seven years, Mr. Zeffiro has held executive roles at TriMas Corporation, a $1.5B diversified global manufacturer of engineered and applied products for commercial, industrial and consumer markets. Earlier this year, Mr. Zeffiro was named group president of Cequent, a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of custom-engineered towing, trailer and cargo management products, and other accessories for light trucks, sport utility vehicles, recreation vehicles, passenger cars and trailers of all types. TriMas Corporation is pursuing a tax-free spin-off of 100% of its Cequent businesses into a new stand-alone, publicly traded company. The spin-off, to be named Horizon Global, is targeted to be complete in mid-2015, at which point Mr. Zeffiro will be president and chief executive officer.
Mr. Zeffiro joined TriMas as the chief financial officer with responsibility for investor relations, financial planning, external reporting, business analysis, treasury, tax and corporate capital as well as the organization’s systems and technology. Prior to TriMas, Mr. Zeffiro spent four years at Black and Decker Corporation as vice president of Finance for Global Consumer Products Group and vice president of Finance for the U.S. Consumer Products Group. Mr. Zeffiro began his career at General Electric Company, where he spent 15 years in roles of progressive responsibility, culminating in the position of chief financial officer of the Americas and Global Imaging Equipment division within the GE Medical Systems Group.
Mr. Zeffiro earned a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Analytics from Bentley College.
