Lutron names Pessina as president
Michael Pessina | Lutron has named Michael Pessina as the president of Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. Pessina, who also serves on Lutron’s Executive Board and the company’s Advisory Council, has been with Lutron for 35 years. Prior to his new role, Pessina served in management positions throughout the company. He was named the senior vice president in 2000. He went on to become the executive vice president and COO in 2002 and was then appointed as the president of the office of product development in 2009. In addition to his work with Lutron, Pessina is a member of several industry associations and serves on the Board of Governors for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). |
Oldfather promoted to president of AD’s Electrical
Divisions
Affiliated Distributors (AD) is
pleased to announce the promotion of David Oldfather to President of
AD’s Electrical Divisions. According to Bill Weisberg, AD CEO, “This
promotion recognizes David’s exemplary leadership, personal growth and
significant contributions to the success of AD Affiliates and Suppliers in our
Electrical Divisions in 2011 and over the course of his eight years at
AD.”
Oldfather’s promotion to President is part of AD’s establishment of fully
empowered, fully resourced strategic business units for each AD Division;
Electrical, PHCP, Drywall and Industrial.
Weisberg states, “The strategic business unit structure provides for
increased Divisional autonomy, which accelerates growth, while keeping our
costs-to-serve low by sharing our best-in-class back office. Each strategic
business unit now has a Divisional President and a dedicated team of executives
and staff members that serve and take direction from our distributor members
and our suppliers through representative Boards and Councils.”
In addition to Oldfather’s promotion, Pam Erickson, Vice President of
Marketing, Electrical Divisions, will focus solely on Electrical Division
Marketing, reporting to David Oldfather. In a move to further augment the
Electrical Divisions’ marketing resources, Laura Dendyuk was also
promoted to Senior Executive Assistant & Marketing Coordinator.
Oldfather adds, “The new organizational structure, combined with the
strong growth of the AD’s Electrical Divisions, will allow us to further invest
in our Divisions’ future by focusing our efforts on the creation of strong,
value-add programs, such as AD’s Clean Energy initiative. With Pam’s welcomed
addition to the Electrical Divisions, we will also be re-focusing our attention
on securing additional business for our Affiliates and Supplier partners
through expanded marketing programs and enhanced cross-sell
opportunities.”
Bruni to retire as president
of United Electric Supply Company
United Electric Supply Company
has announced Eugene (Gene) Bruni is retiring. Bruni has been with the
company for 39 years. According to a United Electric Supply Company news
release, “Gene was one of the most successful outside salesmen for the company,
rising to Vice President of Sales, Senior Vice President of Sales and
Marketing, and finally President of the company.” He played a key role in
growing the company from having one location, 35 employees and $3 million in
sales to a company with 15 locations, 300 employees and $185 million in sales.
Bruni also helped establish United Electric Supply Company’s ESOP in 1995. He
served on the company’s board of directors from 1996 to 2011.
BSE names branch manager

Border States Electric (BSE) named Mark Christopher as the branch manager for the company’s Grand Forks, N.D. location. Christopher began his career with BSE in February 2011 as a quotations representative and has 20 years of experience in the electrical industry. Prior to joining BSE, Christopher worked as an electrical contractor, systems integrator. He recently managed his own electrical contracting firm. |
Friedman Electric names new branch manager, solar
specialist

Friedman Electric has named Eric Hoover as the branch manager at the company’s new location in Williamsport, Pa. Hoover has more than 25 years of experience in the electrical industry. He also served in the United States Marine Corp and the Army National Guard. According to a company news release, Hoover’s new role includes, “…planning and organizing best practices to improve customer relationships, defining and consistently managing inventory levels and maintaining accuracy to meet customer expectations.” |
Susan Mondlak Fenske |
Susan Mondlak Fenske has been named the new solar specialist in the energy solutions department at Friedman Electric. Fenske has more than 20 years of experience working in the energy market and technology fields. In her role with Friedman Electric, Fenske will work to push the company’s alternative energy markets forward. According to a company news release, “Since her [Fenske] addition to the Solar Division, customer relationships have grown into more sales opportunities.” |

Recently Deceased
John Scrudato, died on
Dec. 28 at the age of 93. Scrudato served as the president and CEO of Kahant
Electrical Supply in Randolph, N.J. for 35 years; he retired in 1983. Scrudato
also served as a first sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. He leaves behind
his wife, a son, a daughter, a grandson and a great-grandson.
