Border States Names New VP Procurement

FARGO, N.D. — Zach Kincaid has been named VP Procurement at Border States. He succeeds Richelle Bishoff in the role, as Bishoff transitions to VP Industrial Solutions.

“This appointment represents a full-circle moment for Zach, who began his career at Border States in Procurement,” said James Sipe, Executive VP Supply Chain at Border States. “With a strong focus on people and culture, Zach believes empowered teams deliver exceptional results. His expertise in profit-and-loss management, profit analysis, safety and customer service has enabled him to streamline processes while maintaining a strong commitment to operational excellence.”

Kincaid has been with Border States for more than 12 years, holding roles in branch and area leadership before his most recent position as VP Distribution. Prior to Kincaid’s time at Border States, he spent five years with Republic Services, gaining experience managing in a union environment and fast-paced industry. Kincaid was also a tED Magazine 30 Under 35 Award recipient in 2016.

As he steps into this new role, Kincaid has a focus on the intersection of profitability, sales enablement and customer experience. By creating scalable, disciplined procurement strategies, he plans to build a deep level of trust and help teams win in Border States’ markets across the country, while delivering reliability to customers.

“The perspective gained from the field, branches and customers will directly shape how I lead procurement going forward,” Kincaid said. “My focus is on leading procurement as a strategic profit driver and sales enabler. This move isn’t a step away from the field — it’s an opportunity to connect us even more closely and ensure our strategies are built around what our teams and customers need most.”
