NORCROSS, Ga. — Halco Lighting Technologies announced that Chairman and CEO Allan Nelkin officially retired from his positions at Halco Lighting effective November 24, 2015.
Halco Lighting has grown exponentially since being acquired by Allan in 1991. Under his leadership, the company has built a reputation for outstanding customer service, quality products, and service after the sale.
Allan emphasizes that the growth of Halco was in no small part due to a dedication to its customers. “Doing what is best for your customers is paramount to any company’s success. It isn’t a set of rules or a policy…it’s an attitude—it’s the right attitude,” said Nelkin. This attitude helped Halco grow from a relatively small company to an industry-leading supplier of lamps, ballasts and LED lighting technologies. “And of equal importance,” he added, “we had a lot of fun along the way.”
Current Halco President, Kim Cook, will assume the role of CEO, effective immediately. Cook has been with Halco Lighting for over 23 years. She stated, “Allan’s leadership and guidance made him not only a pivotal figure in Halco’s success, but one in the entire lighting industry.” Ms. Cook then added, “And while he will be sorely missed here, his influence will continue to guide individuals within this organization for years to come.”
