City Electric Supply Opens New Alabama Branch

ATHENS, Alabama — City Electric Supply (CES) is excited to announce that it has opened the doors to its newest branch in Alabama, CES Athens. The top-ten electrical wholesale distributor has built a team with over 65 years of experience, and CES Athens Branch Manager Keith Barksdale says they are ready to support the rapidly growing area.

“There are 3,000 building lots in the area that are approved for building, and another 3,000 just waiting to be approved,” said Barksdale. “It’s the biggest influx in a residential market I’ve ever seen in the 35 years I’ve been doing this. Things are really happening around here.”

And the branch is in the perfect position to help. With over 520 branches in the U.S., there’s nothing that CES Athens can’t provide. Every member of the branch team is determined to make the new store the area’s new go-to supplier.

“We have an incredible team in place,” said Barksdale. “Anyone who calls us or walks in — we take care of them,” said Barksdale. “It’s the way I’ve always chosen to do business.”

That commitment extends to the team as well. Operations Manager Gil Coffman, Counter Sales Rep Seth Williams, and Barksdale built the branch themselves, and Outside Sales Rep Kris Eddins, joined the tight-knit team shortly after. They all feel invested in the branch and ready to take the next step.

“We’ve really gotten to know each other and bond. We have a good time, we cut up, and we get along because we’re all really excited to be here and to work together to make an impact on the community,” said Barksdale. “I’m really proud of my team.”

As for Barksdale’s vision for the branch in the next five years?

“I want us to grow so much that we outgrow the building,” he said. “We have the resources, the team, and the support from the rest of the CES team to really succeed here.”

Everyone at CES looks forward to seeing the new branch succeed. The team is excited to meet the residents of Athens and support them with all of their electrical needs. From commercial, residential to industrial, they’ve got you covered.

“If you come in and need something, we’ll never say we can’t help or turn you away,” said Barksdale. “When you walk in, you have a family ready to help you. We’ll treat you exactly how we’d wanted to be treated every time.”
