CPSC Announces Lithonia Recall

CPSC Announces Lithonia Recall

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of Lithonia Lighting LBL4W model ceiling light fixtures after 6 reports of loose or falling diffuser lenses. The fixtures are used indoors in offices, schools, closets, hallways and stairwells.  The CPSC says about 5,600 fixtures are currently in use.  They were sold through electrical distributors and online at Build.com from February 2016-March 2017.

The fixtures are painted white metal and measure about four feet long with a low profile, curved plastic diffuser lens.  The plastic diffuser lens measures 4 feet long by 15 inches wide.

Consumers should remove the lens and contact Lithonia Lighting, a division of Acuity Brands Lighting, to receive a free lens cover to repair the unit.  Consumers should prevent people from going into the immediate area under the fixtures until the lenses are repaired.

Of the six reported loose or falling diffuser lenses, there are no reports of injuries.
