The Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015, HR 1105 (supported by NAED) passed the House last Thursday with a 240-179 vote. In a letter to coalition partners, Palmer Schoening, Chairman of the Family Business Coalition, thanked the partners for their help bringing death tax repeal front and center during tax week. Schoening said, “This was a big win for our team and a positive step forward for the death tax repeal movement.”
The letter went on to say that Republicans managed their floor time well and hit all of the key points about fairness, jobs, the economy, and the effect of the death tax on family businesses. You can watch a video clip of Rep. Kristi Noem’s (R-SD) death tax story here.
