DOE Hosts 15th Annual SSL Workshop

The Department of Energy is taking registrations for its 15th annual Solid-State Lighting Workshop, which is scheduled for January 29-31 in Nashville, Tennessee.

This year’s workshop, which the DoE says is annually its most-attended, will have three topics of discussion.  The first looks at an in-depth discussion of the most complex science and technology challenges facing SSL today, the second is new ideas to drive significant technology, improve manufacturing processes, and foster U.S. competitiveness, and the third is an exchange of idea and input from industry expert representing the entire supply chain.

The first day of the workshop has experts talking about Led technology and innovation advancements, with speakers from LUMILEDS and Osram taking the stage.  That is followed by a panel discussion on the future of lighting efficacy.  After lunch, the topics turn to outdoor lighting issues, focusing on safety and sky glow.

Day 2 looks at tunable lighting, advanced lighting manufacturing and innovative product concepts, and using data for lighting science.

The workshop ends on day 3 with a panel discussion on advanced functionality and building integration through SSL and the Internet of Things.

You can register for the workshop here.
