PITTSBURGH — Eaton announced that James W. McGill has been named president, Electrical Sector, America’s region. McGill will report to Revathi Advaithi, who becomes Eaton’s chief operating officer, Electrical Sector, effective Sept. 1.
“Jim has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities in his many roles within Eaton,” said Advaithi. “His extensive experience, global perspective and knowledge of our electrical business will help position Eaton for continued growth in the Americas.”
McGill has headed the Electrical Products Group since December 2012 and previously was president of the Asia Pacific region for the Electrical Sector. He had been executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Eaton and previously was president of Eaton’s Asia Pacific region. Before that he was executive vice president of the Eaton Business System. McGill joined Eaton in 1994 and began his professional career with Westinghouse Electric in 1977.
Revathi Advaithi, currently president, Electrical Americas region, was named chief operating officer, Electrical Sector, on June 16, 2015. She succeeds Thomas S. Gross, who is retiring effective Sept. 1, 2015. Advaithi will also have corporate responsibility for Eaton’s EMEA region.
Advaithi joined Eaton in 1995 as a manufacturing supervisor at the Shawnee, Oklahoma facility and progressed in several roles of increasing responsibility in the United States and Europe. She left Eaton in 2002, rejoining the company in 2008 as vice president and general manager of the Electrical Components Division. She was later promoted to president of Eaton’s Electrical Sector’s Asia Pacific region before becoming president, Electrical Sector, America’s region, in April 2012.
