Eaton is informing its distributor partners about a recall of its 30A General Duty 2 and 3 Pole Switches that were made between May 3rd and July 19th of this year. The switches may contain non-conforming line/load lugs that may cause overheating. Eaton asked distributors who have sold the product to warn the end users.
The Pole Switches are product number DG321NGB, which can be found on the shipping label or next to the Eaton logo inside the unit. Eaton is asking distributors to return the un-sold products to them.
Eaton told tED magazine that the issue was brought to their attention by a single customer, and “out of an abundance of caution, we issued this notice.” The company is advising distributors to call the toll-free number (1-800-410-2910) if they have questions.
In the notice to distributors, Eaton writes, “Eaton recognizes and regrets the inconvenience this potential product nonconformance has caused you and asks for your cooperation in completing the necessary inspection. Eaton is committed to providing safe and reliable products and it appreciates you assistance in this matter.”
