SOLON, Ohio (AP)—Energy Focus Inc. (EFOI) on Wednesday reported a loss of $1.8 million in its second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Solon, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 15 cents.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 18 cents per share.
The energy-efficient lighting systems designer posted revenue of $5.2 million in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $5.5 million.
The company’s shares closed at $1.99. A year ago, they were trading at $1.79.
