Leonard “Lenny” Kriegman passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 6, 2015 at the age of 91. He is the former owner and President of Newark Light Co., Inc. in Belleville, NJ, where he was employed for over 55 years until his retirement. An accomplished fine artist, specializing in watercolor painting, he began his career in industrial design before joining his father-in-law, Samuel Pearl, in the family business.
During World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the Army Air Corp where he flew supply missions over the treacherous Himalayan Mountain Range known as the “Hump”. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross among many other medals and citations.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances, and a daughter Susan, he is survived by his son, Andrew Kriegman and his wife, Elizabeth of Summit, his daughter, Janice Kriegman-Berger and her husband Michael Berger of Mount Tabor and his cherished grandchildren, Katherine, and her husband James, Sam, and Rebecca.
