Electrical Engineering & Equipment Company (3E) has lost an estemed leader. John “Joe” Myers, former 3E President & CEO, passed away on Easter morning, April 5, 2015 in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Joe joined 3E in 1959, and served as President and CEO from 1962 to 1995. He remained active with 3E as a member of the Board of Directors until his passing.

He respected the employees, and invested in their daily lives. His afternoon conversations with individuals from the warehouse to the executive floor were welcomed. Being a strong believer in saving for retirement, Joe encouraged all 3E associates to participate in the profit sharing plan.

Joe was born in Des Moines in 1934. He graduated from Roosevelt High School then received his Business degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. While there, he met Sandra, who would become his devoted wife of 58 years. Following graduation and his wedding, Joe served in the U.S. Army as a medical corpsman in Colorado, Texas and Germany.

John “Joe” Myers, a much beloved leader of 3E, and a tremendous person, will be missed by all. His memory lives on through the lives he touched and the company he helped strengthen.
