HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — General Cable Corporation announced that it has appointed a new leader of its North American business. Juan Picon will join General Cable on January 26, 2017 as Senior Vice President of General Cable and President, North America and serve as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team. He will report directly to Michael T. McDonnell, President and Chief Executive Officer of General Cable.
Picon will be responsible for the execution of the Company’s strategic roadmap and transformation within the North American region, where he will focus specifically on driving a leading cost and efficiency position, delivering growth through innovation, and leading efforts in the cultivation of a high-performance culture.

Prior to joining General Cable, Picon was with Honeywell for over 18 years, where he served in a number of executive and senior management capacities within their Automation & Control Solutions (ACS), Aerospace and Transportation Systems businesses. Most recently, he was Vice President & General Manager for Honeywell’s Americas Environmental & Energy Solutions ACS business. During his tenure at Honeywell, he also held positions of increasing responsibility in Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing, operations, plant management and general management. He holds an MBA from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in European Union Law from the University of Carlos III of Madrid, a Diploma in Business from the Centro de Estudios de Comercio (CECO) of Madrid, and a Law degree from the University Complutense of Madrid.
