Granite City Electric Owner Wins Hall of Fame Award

QUINCY, Mass. — On October 22, 2015 Granite City Electric Supply and its owner, Phyllis P. Godwin, were presented with the 2015 “Comcast Spotlight Hall of Fame Award” by the Massachusetts Family Business Association (FBA).

The 2015 Family Business Association Awards Dinner was hosted by WBZ news anchor David Wade. Wade, as the evening’s emcee, summarized Godwin’s years of accomplishments as a family business owner. Godwin was honored specifically for her mentoring and involvement in the FBA Advisory Council. Godwin’s daughters, Valia Marsden and Sara Meehan, along with grandson Will Marsden, gathered onstage to accept the award on Granite City Electric’s behalf.

The Family Business Association is a non-profit organization “dedicated to the recognition and implementation of best business practices and ethical standards” among family business enterprises.

Granite City Electric Supply has been a family-owned and operated business since Godwin’s father, Nicholas V. Papani, founded the company in 1923.
