On Monday, September 16, Gross Electric hosted a golf outing to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association and the Sight Center of Northwest Ohio. Over 70 local electrical contractors and builders gathered at Sylvania Country Club to raise money for these two worthy charities.
“We have hosted golf outings for many years as a way of thanking our loyal customers,” explains Joe Gross, vice president of Gross Electric, “but this year we wanted to start raising money for local charities, as well.”
The two charities were chosen because of the direct impact they have had on the Gross family. “Our family has first-hand experience in dealing with Alzheimer’s and macular degeneration,” says Laurie Gross, president of Gross Electric. “So, it was natural for us to want to reach out and help these two charities.”
Joe adds, “As the elderly population increases, many other families will be affected by these same issues. The golf outing was not only a way to raise funds for these two charities, but to raise awareness.”
Gross Electric raised $4,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association and the Sight Center of Northwest Ohio through an auction and raffles held throughout the day. According to Joe and Laurie, they intend to make this an annual fundraising event.
