Irby President Michael Wigton took to LinkedIn to announce that he will be retiring from the company after more than 11 years. Here is his post:
After 42 years in the electrical industry, the last 11+ with Irby, I am today announcing my retirement. I will be staying on through the end of 2016 as a strategic advisor to Sonepar USA to help in the transition to my ultimate replacement. Many kudos to the folks at Irby, the very best company I have ever worked for, and to Sonepar the parent company that has allowed us to grow to $1 billion without changing the Irby culture. May God Bless them all!!
Irby was founded in 1926 and is based in Jackson, Mississippi. The company has 59 locations in 25 states. It was acquired by Sonepar in 2005.
