LEDVANCE, a global leader in innovative lighting solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Andreas Adam as the new Senior Director of Global Sustainability, effective April 1, 2024. He brings extensive experience in environmental management and strategic leadership, making him an ideal fit for this crucial role.
Adam has been with LEDVANCE since the company emerged from OSRAM’s general lighting division in 2016, and has been instrumental in leading various environmental initiatives within the organization. In his most recent role as Head of Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), he supervised WEEE compliance schemes for the collection and recycling of electric/electronic waste across several European countries. His leadership in this capacity has significantly contributed to LEDVANCE’s sustainability efforts and compliance with international environmental standards. Moreover, Adam serves as a Board Member of the EucoLight association in Brussels, the voice of European lighting WEEE compliance schemes, and holds advisory positions in various industrial associations. His deep understanding of environmental regulations and strategic sustainability aligns perfectly with the company’s long-term sustainability goals.
Adam succeeds Stefan Geissdörfer in this role. His appointment reflects LEDVANCE’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Reporting directly to Executive Senior Vice President Jue Wang, Adam is responsible for:
- Corporate sustainability: overseeing reporting, taxonomy, and compliance.
- Product-related sustainability initiatives: enhancing the sustainability of the LEDVANCE product portfolio.
- Security, environment, health, and safety: ensuring safe and environmentally responsible operations.
In his new role, Adam will define strategic sustainability goals and targets for LEDVANCE, continuing to build on the company’s strong foundation in environmental responsibility.
Said Adam about his new role: “I am honored to take on the role of Senior Director of Global Sustainability at LEDVANCE. Our primary focus will be to drive sustainability initiatives that provide direct and meaningful benefits to both our customers and the environment. While maintaining rigorous reporting and compliance standards is essential, our ambition is to implement practical solutions that enhance the sustainability of our products and operations, making a significant positive impact on the planet.”
