Silver Spring, MD – “LumenOptix is proud to sponsor the National Lighting Bureau. It’s the only industry organization that is dedicated to educating the general public on the advantages of proper, quality lighting – what it calls High-Benefit Lighting® – for almost four decades. “I encourage other industry peers and stakeholders to join in the cause,” said Jay Goodman, founder of LumenOptix, a designer and manufacturer of specification-grade lighting solutions for the already built environment.
The National Lighting Bureau is a not-for-profit, IRS-recognized educational foundation that has promoted the value of good lighting since its founding in 1976. “High-Benefit Lighting” encompasses a lighting system designed to add value to the performance of activities it’s used to illuminate, thus to improve not only energy efficiency, but also productivity, error/reject rates, safety, security, retail sales, and even human health. It can even reduce the cost of insurance. The National Lighting Bureau believes that energy savings is only one part of the equation when evaluating a lighting system. When viewed as a whole, the value provided by a High-Benefit Lighting system is exponentially greater.
“The independence of the National Lighting Bureau, not to mention its longevity, give it a degree of credibility that other organizations find hard to match,” Mr. Goodman said. “Its focus on providing easy-to-comprehend guidance about technical issues to those who own and manage lighting systems is a cause the entire lighting community should be supporting.”
“We’re very pleased to have LumenOptix as one of our sponsors,” said National Lighting Bureau Chair Howard P. Lewis (Visioneering Corp.), who represents the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) on the Bureau’s board. “It’s especially gratifying to experience such a strong sense of responsibility from a company as youthful as LumenOptix. It bodes well for the future.”
