MaxLite appointed Chris Primous to vice president of OEM sales, to work closely with residential and commercial lighting manufacturers on the global level. Primous will report directly to Thomas Rhee, senior vice president of sales, marketing and product.
“Chris brings a unique lighting industry experience that incorporates solid state lighting, new product development, and sales with multiple luminaire and lamp manufacturers,” Rhee said. “As SSL technology becomes more pervasive, Chris’ expertise will help drive our OEM business to grow and expand into new market segments.”
Primous will be in charge of developing LED and CFL programs for a broad range of top tier luminaire manufacturers and marketers. Working closely with the marketing and product development teams to ensure success, he will help direct strategic planning and a product roadmap for the broad OEM market segment.
With more than 15 years of lighting industry experience, Primous was responsible for launching the first LED residential luminaire package, including one of the first LED downlights, when he served as product manager for Progress Lighting, a division of Hubbell Lighting. He also was product development specialist and applications engineer for Lithonia Lighting, a division of Acuity Brands, and consultant to the EPA¹s ENERGY STAR® Lighting Program where he helped bring solid-state lighting products into the program and expand the use of energy-efficient luminaires and lamps on a national level.
