WEST CALDWELL, N.J. — MaxLite announced that its Caldwell Independent Testing Laboratories has received National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accreditation (NVLAP Lab Code 201064-0) for testing energy efficient lighting products.
Caldwell Independent Testing Laboratories is now accredited to submit photometric test results for LED lamps and luminaires that will be accepted by government and non-government agencies, such as ENERGY STAR and the Design Lights Consortium (DLC). Located on the site of MaxLite’s New Jersey headquarters, Caldwell Independent Testing Laboratories joins an elite group of laboratories worldwide that have achieved NVLAP accreditation in photometric testing. Notably, Caldwell Independent Testing Laboratories is accredited to perform LM-79 testing under NVLAP codes Solid State Lighting Luminaires – Total Flux Measurements (Luminous Efficacy) and Luminous Intensity Measurements.
This accreditation is an important milestone for MaxLite and its customers, as it shortens the time necessary to perform extensive testing during the product development process and accelerates the time to market for new products. Caldwell Independent Testing Laboratories will provide internal testing and measurement for MaxLite in addition to testing for third-party customers.
“We are very proud to have received these NVLAP accreditations,” said Vice President of Product Management and Engineering Greg Galluccio. “To have completed this rigorous process in less than six months is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our product engineering team. MaxLite is one of only a few lighting manufacturers to have achieved NVLAP accreditation, strengthening our commitment and capabilities in providing leading-edge solutions to real-market challenges.”
NVLAP is administered by the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) and provides an unbiased third-party evaluation to testing and calibration laboratories. To earn NVLAP accreditation, an applicant laboratory must compete a detailed application, assessment and testing process to demonstrate that it operates in accordance with NVLAP management and technical requirements.
