Mayer Electric Supply’s Dave Carroll, an Orlando, FL Branch Manager, received an unexpected honor recently when a representative of the ESGR, a United States Department of Defense Operational Committee, presented him with their Patriot Award at his Mayer-Orlando office.
The Patriot Award, nominated by an employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, recognizes individual supervisors and bosses for the support they provided directly to the nominating Service Member. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed. David was nominated by a member of the Mayer-Orlando team and the Army Reserves.
“I’m certainly honored to receive this award, and the recognition really goes to Billy Faulk, one of our outside account managers in the Army Reserve. Billy is on active duty serving a year deployment in Afghanistan,” said Carroll. “Plus, I know that Billy recognizes the outstanding support Mayer provides for associates who serve in the National Guard and Reserves and their families. This is one more thing which has made Mayer a great, supportive, and award-winning place to work.”
The ESGR was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers.
