NAILD Postpones April Conference

The National Association of Innovative Lighting Distributors (NAILD) has announced that it will postpone its NAILD Innovation-2020 Vision Conference scheduled for next month.

In a video announcement on the NAILD website, Greg Ehrich and Michael Colligan said they had a discussion with NAILD President Spencer Miles, and they agreed to adhere to the Centers for Disease Control recommendation to not hold meetings with more than 50 people for the next 60 days due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19. The conference was scheduled to be held in Biloxi, Mississippi on April 19-23. Scheduled events included seminars on creating a high performance sales team, selling lighting on social media, and how to keep lighting distribution businesses profitable.

“We don’t have the next dates. We keep talking about it, and we will keep on it,” Greg Ehrich said in the video announcement. “It’s definitely an interesting time, and a lot of momentum was built up, and now we are just shutting it down.” Colligan said the postponement happened because this COVID-19 situation is a “watershed event” and “everything is going to be different past this.”

The video announcement also said the NAILD board will be meeting the week of March 16-23 to discuss a refund policy or if registrants can use their payment for the soon to be rescheduled NAILD conference. “We still want to do something, but right now, everything is in limbo. Just hold tight for now,” Ehrich said.
