NEED Announces Project Green Lights 2015 Winner

BOSTON, Mass. — West Middle School, located in Brockton, Massachusetts, has been selected as the
grand prize winning school in the NorthEast Electrical Distributors “Project Green Lights 2015” essay
submission contest. NorthEast Electrical Distributors (NEED) and Sylvania will provide a Lighting Energy Audit that will
recommend an appropriate energy savings solution, including lamps and ballasts. Following completion of the
audit, NorthEast Electrical Distributors and Sylvania will provide the school with an energy efficient lighting
system that will achieve the maximum energy savings impact, up to a $50,000 value, including equipment and
installation costs.

Laurie Silva, Brockton’s Director of Development and Grants, wrote an essay on behalf of Brockton’s West
Middle School for Project Green Lights. “The school staff and students were very excited when they heard they
had won,” Silva said, “They are looking forward to making a difference by reducing the electricity usage at the
school.”

Don Block, President of NorthEast Electrical Distributors, added, “Congratulations to the students, teachers,
and administrators from West Middle School in Brockton for submitting the winning ‘Project Green Lights’
entry. Our associates are ecstatic to provide them with energy efficient lighting that will help to provide an
improved learning environment and will also reduce their energy consumption. I would like to thank the
dozens of deserving entries from all six New England states and thank them for their participation.”
