CANTON, Mass. — In strong support of two prominent organizations whose mission is to help post-war veterans, Needham Electric announced their donation of $2500 to both the Wounded Warrior Project and Homes for Our Troops. The proceeds are from the company’s 14th annual Golf Tournament held at Easton Country Club in September.
Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. According to WWP, over 48,000 servicemen and women have been physically injured in the recent military conflicts. In addition, as many as 400,000 live with the invisible wounds of war including combat-related stress, major depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced a traumatic brain injury while on deployment.
Homes for Our Troops’ mission is to build mortgage-free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post-9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
Needham’s donation will benefit a home being built in Middleboro, Massachusetts.
