COMMERCE, Calif. — No Kid Hungry, a campaign that helps ensure school children across America have access to healthy meals, recently received a holiday donation from Nora Lighting. The program is sponsored by Share Our Strength and has supplied more than 460 million breakfasts, afterschool and summer meals.
Share Our Strength / No Kid Hungry is based in Washington, D.C. The organization supports nutrition programs in local communities throughout the U.S. Their work is accomplished through a network of private citizens, government officials and business leaders.
“We would like to thank Jilla Farzan and the team at Nora Lighting for their generous gift,” said Britta Bucholtz, California director of development for No Kid Hungry.
“One in five children in the U.S. does not receive the food they need every day. Our campaign connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. With supporters like Nora we are able to attain even more significant results,” said Bucholtz.
“The Nora team was delighted to lend our support to this worthy program,” said Jilla Farzan, executive vice president at Nora Lighting. “Together we can give kids the childhood they deserve,” she said, “and help them break the cycle of deprivation and poverty.”
