Nu-Lite Donates to Gleason Initiative Foundation

Nu-Lite Electrical Wholesalers, a local family–owned Electrical Distributor headquartered in Harahan, Louisiana,
has raised over $25,000 on behalf of the Gleason Initiative Foundation. The Gleason Initiative was begun by former New Orleans Saints football player Steve Gleason who has ALS. The charity raises awareness for this debilitating disease, funds research and provides technology needed by those affected by ALS. It was an honor for Nu-Lite and its customers to be able to help this organization continue its fight against ALS.

Every year Nu-Lite selects a local charity to benefit from its annual fall charity promotion begun five years ago. In those five years, Nu-Lite has been able to donate over $135,000 with the help of metro New Orleans electricians and vendors. Our customer base loves to help support our local community. Gary Corales presented the check to representatives of Team Gleason at their annual Customer Appreciation Steak Cookout in November.

The vendors who contributed to this years’ charity were Encore Wire, Philips, Western Tube and Conduit, Leviton, Square D by Schneider Electric, Burndy, Thomas & Betts, Ideal Industries, Eaton/Cooper Lighting/B-Line/Crouse-Hinds and Bridgeport. Without the support from these vendors, the annual charity fundraising would not be possible.

Nu-Lite Electrical Wholesalers is a local family–owned Electrical Distributor headquartered in Harahan, Louisiana with five branches in the surrounding New Orleans metropolitan area. Nu-Lite Electrical Wholesalers opened its doors for business in April, 1950, in downtown New Orleans. Their 66 years of success is a result of their dedicated employees and valued customers.
