WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Omni Cable’s Chicago branch raised $668 for the Wounded Warrior Project®, an organization that supports injured military service members.
Spearheaded by Ken Vercellotti, Omni Cable Account Manager and an Illinois Air National Guardsman, the branch was able to raise the money by hosting internal barbecues and activities to promote the company’s ESOP during the first quarter of 2017.
“Every quarter a different employee-owner selects the charity/organization that the branch supports. In Q1, we gave this opportunity to Ken,” said David Gibson, Distribution Center Manager, Omni Cable’s Chicago branch. Gibson and Tori Laxton, Omni Cable Chicago Account Manager, organize the community service events for the branch. “Many employee-owners have chosen specific charities that they are passionate about or causes that have directly affected them,” said Gibson. Being a veteran himself, Vercellotti said that he felt the Wounded Warrior Project is a worthy cause, and he wanted to honor and empower his fellow service members.
