Major manufacturers such as Acuity, TCP, MaxLite, Signify, and Universal Lighting Technologies have announced price increases beginning in February due to increased supply costs.
Sero Cardamone, Senior Vice President, Global Sales of Acuity Brands issued the following announcement to Acuity Brands customers: “As we begin a new calendar year, we all continue to face uncertainties and unusual challenges presented by the global pandemic. Many industries, including ours, are being impacted by the rising costs of commodity materials such as steel, aluminum and polycarbonate, electronic component availability and demand, and increased logistics and freight costs. These increased costs have impacted not only our business, but also that of our suppliers.”
Acuity announced the following: A general price increase of up to 8% on certain lighting and lighting control products, effective March 15, 2021, with the last day for release of orders at current pricing March 12, 2021. It also announced a price increase of 8% on all lighting poles effective January 18, 2021 with the last day for the release of lighting pole orders at current prices January 15, 2021.
MaxLite announced an across-the-board general price increase of 8% effective February 8, 2021. This applies to the list price of all products in the MaxLite portfolio, with the exception of clearance items. All price quotes will expire February 28, 2021.
Signify’s price increases are effective February 15, 2021 as follows: Conventional lamps will increase by an average of 5%; Luminaires, ballasts and EvoKits will increase by an average of 6%; LED lamps and electronics will increase by an average of 3%. These increases will be applied to all orders placed on February 15, 2021 onwards or for future-dated shipments on orders placed between now and February 15, 2021.
Universal Lighting Technologies will implement a price increase ranging from 2% to 7%, across select products, effective March 8. The company will apply these changes to all orders placed after March 8. New price schedules will be available on or before February 8.
