hybris and SAP have signed an agreement for SAP to acquire hybris. Acquiring hybris was the piece SAP needed to complete the puzzle as a business-to-business-to-consumer company, and enables the two businesses to connect their B2B, B2C, digital and telco enterprises with their customers in real-time.
The deal is expected to close in Q3 2013, and once it does, hybris will continue to operate as a separate business unit within SAP and develop its technology, product strategy and roadmap, while also benefitting from the significant resources and market reach SAP offers.
Once the transaction closes, hybris will also gain access to SAP’s community of more than 238,000 customers and will dramatically expand its presence in established and emerging markets.
“hybris puts SAP on the leading edge of the consumer economy,” said Bill McDermott and Jim Hagemann Snabe, co-CEOs, SAP AG. “With hybris, SAP has made a decisive move to raise the stakes in customer relationship management and define the next generation customer experience.”
