BRAMPTON, Ontario – Sonepar announced that Sonepar Canada Inc., its wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary, has completed the acquisition of Aztec Electrical Supply Inc. (“Aztec”). With a strong presence in Ontario, this acquisition will strengthen Sonepar’s ability to evolve its industrial business model in the Greater Toronto Area.
Founded in 2002, Aztec has developed its presence in the Ontario market by opening four branches located in Vaughan, Cambridge, Mississauga, and Burlington. The company will therefore add more than 100 employees to the Sonepar Canada network and should record sales of more than $70 million in 2022.
“Aztec is founded on the principle that the distribution of electrical products can be unique and specialized. Its initial goal was to form a distribution company for industrial electrical equipment and automation solutions based on product differentiation, to have the best technical support and a highly committed sales team that meets the needs of the industrial market” , said Kevin Borg, Vice President of Sales and Operations for Aztec. “Aztec will now be able to leverage Sonepar’s size and position to continue to grow significantly.”
“As we wish to diversify our offerings on the market and create potential business opportunities, Aztec’s proven experience in specialized distribution, combined with its dedicated staff, will now contribute to the growth of Sonepar in Ontario” , concludes François Anquetil, President of Sonepar Canada.
