CLEVELAND, Ohio — Sonnhalter, a marketing communications firm to the professional tradesman in the construction, industrial, and MRO markets, celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Sonnhalter was founded in 1976 by John Sonnhalter during a time before marketing agencies focused on specialized areas of expertise. Sonnhalter developed the acronym “B2T,” which stands for
“business-to-tradesmen,” to capture the essence of its specialty, which is
serving companies that target professional tradesmen in the construction,
industrial and MRO markets.
“Forty years ago, there weren’t any specialists
in the advertising and marketing industries,” said John Sonnhalter,
rainmaker journeyman at Sonnhalter. “Today, we are proud to have been on the
cutting edge of the growing trend of niche marketing.”
In 2015, Sonnhalter
moved from its headquarters in Berea, Ohio, to the historic Brownell
Building, an approximately 5,000-square-foot office in downtown Cleveland.
That same year, John Sonnhalter finalized the transition of the agency’s
ownership to his son, Matt Sonnhalter, who became the company’s president in
2008. Today, Sonnhalter continues to lead in delivering channel marketing
programs, new product launches, brand development and integration, sales
promotion and public relations services to clients serving the numerous
industries that target the professional tradesmen.
“In 40 years, many
agencies have come and gone, and I am proud to see this agency thrive and
continue to grow without losing sight of our B2T niche,” said Matt
Sonnhalter, vision architect at Sonnhalter. “As manufacturing continues to
become a world economy, we at Sonnhalter are excited to explore the new
marketing opportunities for the professional tradesmen in the decades to
come.”
