Last month, Southwire launched a new company blog, a Facebook presence and a Twitter profile. The company says its social media involvement is an avenue for connecting with customers.
“Our blog provides us a forum by which we can offer ideas and provide a point of view on a variety of vital business topics. In addition, utilizing Facebook and Twitter forums enables Southwire to engage in conversations with our customers and respond to their feedback, virtually in real time,” said Rhonda Gauthreaux, Southwire’s director of marketing and communications.
The new social media push follows the release of several Southwire mobile applications which the company says, “…are designed to help customers be more efficient and effective in their jobs, regardless of their location…” Southwire says its mobile apps have generated significant positive feedback from users.
“Our customers are changing the ways in which they search for information and interact with suppliers. Southwire recognizes these changes, and we are moving rapidly in the digital age and adapting to these changes,” Gauthreaux said.
Southwire Company is one of the largest wire and cable producers in North America. The Carrollton, Ga.-based company has four manufacturing segments—energy, electrical, OEM (original equipment manufacturing) and SCR (Southwire Continuous Rod).
