This month, Albuquerque, N.M.-based Summit Electric Supply opened a new service center in Abilene, Texas. The new location expands the company’s operations in the western part of the state.
“Abilene is a market Summit has been interested in for a long time,” said Scott Cogan, Summit’s Southwest regional vice president.
Cogan said Summit will target a variety of customers at the new location, including commercial, industrial maintenance, repair, operation and institutional.
Brian Luckenbach, a long-time Summit account manager, will serve as Abilene’s new service center leader.
The city of Abilene is near the rich oil and gas producing region of the Permian Basin—a region extending from western Texas into southeastern New Mexico.
Summit recently opened a new service center in Pearsall, Texas to support the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas exploration currently under way in southern Texas.
Founded in 1977, Summit Electric Supply is an independent, privately held wholesale distributor of industrial electrical equipment and supplies. The company operates service centers in 19 cities across four states and has more than 500 associates. Summit’s marine division is based in New Orleans and its EP&C division and international sales divisions are based in Houston. Summit also has a service center in Dubai, UAE and has a sales team dedicated to Latin America.
