Turtle & Hughes Appoints New President

Long-time employee, Richard (Rick) Reffler, has been appointed President of Turtle & Hughes, Inc.

Based in Linden, NJ, Turtle & Hughes, Inc., is one of the nation’s largest electrical and industrial distributors.

Reffler joined the company in 1996 and, since then, has served in several leadership positions, most recently, as Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Committee.

“Rick is a progressive and innovative thinker with a proven track record of success and leadership. He has extensive electrical industry experience and, for 17 years, has made a tremendous impact on our organization,” says Jayne Millard, Chief Executive Officer. “There is no one more deserving of this title,” she continues.

Reffler joined Turtle & Hughes as manager of its Plainfield, NJ, branch, after serving as officer and part owner of Northern Electric Supply Co. in South Plainfield, NJ. He grew the Plainfield branch into one of the company’s first successful construction and counter sales operation. Soon after, he assumed the additional responsibilities of Bridgewater Branch Manager. There, he merged the company’s electrical and industrial operations. He then developed and managed the Bridgewater Central Distribution Center, including Logistics and Purchasing, and renovated the large facility to better service customers in the Northeast.

Over the next several years, Reffler was promoted to Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, and named a member of the Executive Committee. In these positions, he is credited with creating a number of very successful technical groups, including Data Communications, Green Energy Solutions, New York Lighting, and Marketing. He also took part in guiding the company¹s growth through acquisition and branch expansion with a focus on national accounts. Since 2001, Reffler has served as a Network Delegate for Affiliated Distributors Electrical Supply Division.
