COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. — Werner Electric announced in May that John Christensen has accepted the new position for Lighting and Switchgear Segment Manager. Christensen comes to Werner from Acuity, where he worked as both a Regional Sales Manager and Regional Director of Construction Solutions. He has also worked with SqD and GE.
Accompanying the announcement, Bob Cunningham, Director of Construction, said, “Werner is very excited to have John on our team. John brings over 20 years of construction and lighting experience at both local and factory levels. With John’s talent and vision, I am very excited about our future in delivering expertise, innovative solutions and an exceptional experience to our customers.”
With Christensen’s knowledge of the industry and level of expertise, he brings a full breadth of skills and leadership to the construction and lighting teams. “Werner Electric has a tremendous growth opportunity in construction and lighting specifically because of the people and infrastructure. I was drawn by the unparalleled culture where I intend for Werner Electric to be the “Go To” Distributor for all construction and lighting needs,” stated Christensen.
Christensen is a lifelong resident of Minnesota. Born and raised in the Twin Cities, he is a graduate of the University of MN with a BA in Speech Communications. He and his wife, Amy, reside in Edina, MN with their kids, Beck (16) and Lainey (13). The family are avid snowboarders and skiers. Christensen plays golf and entertains himself and others as a drummer for several local bands.
