Eaton Named a 2016 Best Employer for Healthy Lifestyles

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Power management company Eaton announced the company has been recognized among the 2016 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles®. The National Business Group on Health, a non-profit association of 425 large U.S. employers, honored Eaton for having one of the best workforce well-being programs in the nation at the National Business Group on Health’s Fall Conference held in Washington, D.C.

Eaton was the only company to receive the Global Distinction award in 2016, an honor also earned by the company in 2013, for its efforts to enhance the physical, psychological and emotional health, well-being and productivity of global employees and their dependents.

Eaton is among 55 U.S. employers that received the 2016 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles® award presented at the National Business Group on Health’s Fall Conference. Eaton received a Gold award for its ongoing commitment and dedication to promoting a healthy work environment through its Powering You to Live Well program. This marks the fourth consecutive year Eaton has received a Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award.

“Our wellness strategy is part of Eaton’s commitment to making a positive impact on the quality of life for our employees and in our communities around the world. We strive to provide the atmosphere and tools that will empower them to live longer, healthier lives,” said Cindy Brabander, Eaton’s executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “We’re thrilled to again be recognized by the National Business Group on Health as we continue to remove traditional barriers to wellness and provide employees and their families with the resources they need to thrive.”

Eaton’s Powering You to Live Well program is based on five pillars of wellness: eat healthy, manage stress, get fit, be tobacco free and know your numbers. In the U.S., program objectives include significantly reducing Eaton’s overall health care costs over five years without shifting costs to employees and providing employees and family members best-in-class health management programs. Globally, Eaton believes that its wellness strategy promotes a healthier, more productive workforce and enables the company to be an employer of choice.

“We congratulate Eaton for their dedication to improving the well-being of their employees,” said Brian Marcotte, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health. Employers are transitioning their focus from offering traditional wellness programs focused primarily on improving their employees’ physical health to holistic well-being strategies aimed at enhancing the various facets of employees and their families’ lives. We commend Eaton and its leaders for their innovation.”
