Womack Electric Supply is thinking globally and acting locally. The company’s community outreach programs, like Food for Families, are specifically designed to allow them to work as active partners with their customers to make a positive impact on the local communities.
Unlike many food drives that are held during the holiday season, Womackâs Food for Families drive is held annually during the month of July. This is a month that many food pantries and institutions find donations to be at a minimum. Each Womack Electric Supply branch serves as a drop off location for non-perishable food donations.
All customers, along with the local community, are encouraged to support the drive by donating non-perishable and canned food items including beans, vegetables, meats, soup, fruit and much more. This year, Womack collected 5,930 canned goods. All donations are distributed to local food pantries in the community in which they are donated.
“We thank everyone involved for helping make this worthy program such a success and for making a difference in the lives of our neighbors struggling with hunger,” said Rhonda Aherron, Marketing Manager at Womack Electric Supply.
